Getting Around Portland

PORTLAND’S PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Whether you’re using Trimet for your daily commute or just to see the sights, you’ll notice that Portland takes its public transportation seriously. If you’ll be using Trimet frequently, think about getting a Hop Card.

RIDE SHARING APPS IN PORTLAND

Both Lyft and Uber service the Portland metropolitan area. If you’ve ever used these apps, you’ll know the experience is pretty self explanatory. So leave your car at home and go see the city!

Bike Sharing

Biketown has been operating in Portland since 2016. You can pay by the hour or get a membership and have unlimited access to bikes all across the city. There are also a number of companies that provide scooters which can be rented by the hour. Get out and enjoy the fun of cycling and scootin’ around town; just be sure to wear a helmet!

Need an escape? Located in the heart of downtown is Portland’s Lan Su Garden and tea-house. Although you’re just steps away from the bustle of the city, Lan Su can give you a peaceful respite whenever needed.

Get Excited About Science

Oregon’s Museum of Science and Industry is a great place to spend a rainy day in town. From their rotating exhibits, to the submarine docked outside, to the planetarium shows, there’s something for everyone at OMSI. Be sure to check out their “after dark” events!

Get Outdoors

Portland Parks & Recreation maintains thousands and thousands of acres of green space within the city limits. From the massive Forest Park along the west hills of the city, to the worlds smallest park, Portlanders love spending time outdoors!

City of Roses

Located at the top of Washington Park, Portland’s International Rose Test Garden is the nation’s oldest rose test garden and features thousands upon thousands of roses. You’ll see them blooming from April to October with a peak in June.
