Portland's Spring Farmers Markets

As the Spring season blooms in Portland, so do our bustling farmers markets - a testament to Portland's love for fresh, local, and sustainable food!

In May, markets brim with a variety of offerings. From the season’s first strawberries to spring specialties like green garlic and asparagus, Portlanders can taste the passion put into their food by local farmers and purveyors. And it’s not all produce - there’s also an array of artisanal cheeses and bread, meats, sauces and even liquors. Eager market-goers will find something to satisfy every palate.

With many markets to choose from, one standout is the Portland Farmers Market at PSU. This almost year-round market is a food lover's paradise with over 140 stalls selling flowers, honey, locally-made cheese, bread, fresh produce, garden starts, pastries and more! Plus, with live music and a friendly atmosphere, it's a fun way to spend a Saturday.

Another must-visit is the King Farmers Market in NE Portland, known for its diverse selection of vendors and produce. With activities for kids and King Park & Playground next door, it’s a great option for shoppers with little ones in tow.

And don’t overlook the Montavilla Farmers Market!. Although smaller than our other picks, it has a wonderful community atmosphere and offers a wide variety of organic and locally sourced products.

Markets across the city are open on different days of the week, so find one that fits your busy schedule, grab your reusable bags and head out to explore what our local farmers have to offer.
