Our favorite things to do with our pups around Portland!

Portland consistently ranks in the top 5 most dog-friendly cities in the nation. It’s apparent everywhere you go, from outdoor patios to events and of course the over 30 off-leash dog parks around the city. People love their dogs here and we’re right there with them! Everyone on our team has a lovable pooch that is part of the BrightSpace family. Here’s our list of some of our favorite things to do with our pups.

Cycledog: Park & Pub

This indoor/outdoor dog park has it all! We love bringing our pups to their themed days like tiny dog Tuesdays, wet dog Wednesdays & doggie brunch on the weekends, all while enjoying a tasty beverage. They offer free access for dogs inside the tavern and day passes or memberships for the off-leash areas. All well-socialized dogs and people are welcome. It's a great place for a rainy day in Portland!

Thousand Acre Dog Park

Sandy River Delta Park, or as the locals call it 1000-acre dog park boasts open fields, trails, Sandy Riverfront access, and wetlands. The park is an absolute mecca for pups and their owners to enjoy being outdoors, running, splashing, and playing. Just 30 minutes from central Portland, you'll feel like you're a world away as you're surrounded by nature & wildlife at this park.

Dogtober Fest ~ Sept 30th

Mark your calendars for the end of the month because DoveLewis is throwing its pet-friendly Oktoberfest party & fundraiser. This event has awesome music, vendors, delicious food, and beer (including a special brew made just for DoveLewis), while your furry friend gets pampered with a wash and nail trim. The best part is that all donations and proceeds from the event go toward their Blood Bank. This great program helps dogs and cats receive lifesaving blood transfusions every year. Enjoy a fun time surrounded by doggos for a great cause!

My-Oh-My Cocktail Bar

An upper Sandy watering hole that combines all of the best things about your favorite dive bars. They have pool tables, a long bar top, tropical tiki drinks, vintage booths, greasy food, an indoor fireplace, a large outdoor patio, and even drag bingo! The vibe is kitschy & eclectic and not at all stuffy BUT most importantly, they welcome all good dogs. Bring your pup, rain or shine - cheers!
